Santorini ( Thera ) - Greek islands

After traveling for a whole day and two nights out at sea we arrived at our first destination of the Greek islands.
Santorini is known as Thera by the greeks. Is in the Aegean Sea and is part of the Cyclades islands of the Greek islands.

Our stay in Santorini was very short. Only from 8 to 13:00. And since the people who hire a tour get to go off the ship first, we hired a tour for this destination to make sure we got to see the beautiful town of Oia before getting back to the ship by 13:00.
There were many tours to choose from. We took the tour that would take us by bus to Oia and then Thira. Then in Thira we could choose to go down to the port by cable car or by donkey.

We arrived in Santorini at sunrise where small boats take us to land.

It was amazing when you realize you are floating inside an 80 Km. volcanic crater.

We first visited Oia built on top of the edge of the ridge of the volcano.

An old fisherman talks to us in Greek. ευχαριστώ

Then the bus took as to Thira, which is also built on the ridge of the volcano.

Our ship was waiting down below. We had to be back by 12:30

You could go down to the port by donkey.

Or you could go down by cable car.

Then we got back to the ship by boat and enjoyed a meal and the pool on board before getting to our next destination at 18:00
